Welcome to our blog!

Since this is our first post (and me being a little nervous with new stuff ... as usual), I'll post a list of favourite ABC picture books I came across when I was doing research on our delightfully illustrated ABC books. (This list was previously on our old website, too. In case you didn't get to read it then, here it is again. )

At CarryUsOff Books, we love good stories and art. And wonderful picture books can GREATLY complement children's happy learning. Here is a list of 10 classic and popular alphabet books to check out at your bookstore or library. Enjoy them with your preschooler!

  • Dr. Seuss's ABC: An Amazing Alphabet Book!                 by Dr. Seuss
  • Sleepy ABC                                                                       by Margaret Wise Brown & Esphyr Slobodkina
  • Alphabet Puzzle                                                               by Jill Downie
  • Albert B. Cub & Zebra (An Alphabet Storybook)            by Anne Rockwell
  • Alphabet City                                                                   by Stephen T. Johnson
  • Penguin's Adventure in Alphabet Town                          by Laura Alden & Jenny Williams
  • The Guinea Pig ABC                                                          by Kate Duke
  • Everything to Spend the Night (from A-Z)                      by Ann Whitford Paul & Maggie Smith
  • Alphabears: An ABC Book                                               by Kathleen Hague & Michael Hague
  • Olga's Cats: An ABC Book                                               by Colette Anjou & S., Olga Linville

  • CarryUsOff Books isn't advertising for these books, and I don't know these authors and illustrators personally either. I'm suggesting them here because I've truly enjoyed reading them, and flipping through page after page of delicious pictures. My favourite from this list is Everything to Spend the Night (from A-Z); a close second is Olga's Cats.
Which is yours? Or your child's?
